What to do with the kids near Polzeath when it's Raining.

As we all know British Summer time weather can be a tad unpredictable, so you may well ask yourself ' what's there to do with the kids if its raining'  .  So I've put a handful of suggestions together for you.  However " DON'T RUN AWAY YET! " . The first thing to consider is it really that bad.  All water based activities like surfing, surf lessons, water skiing, wake boarding, sailing, coastering etc will still be loads of fun with a bit of rain.  And aslong as you go prepared then going on one walk around the coast can often much more bearable with kids with a little drizzle rather that on a blistering hot day.

If your on the beach and get too wet you can find refuge at the Tubestation, Waterfront or Galleon Cafe's.

However in the eventuallity the rain is too hard or it's too windy here's some suggestions.  Any others then feel free to list them at the bottom of the page.

1. Carruan Farm: There's no charge for entry to the farm itself but if you want to use the Calf Shed Play Barn then its £1 for Adults and £3.50 for the kids. Other attraction s include Pedal Go Karts, The Calf Shed Play Barn.

2. Wadebridge Cinema - There's only one really big screen here.  The second screen could be dissapointing to some.  The current kids film is Kung Fu Panda 2 - Wadebridge is a 2D cinema.  For 3D films you'll need to travel to St.Austell or the new Newquay cinema.

3. Crealy - Wadebridge.  The kids love this place, there's enough here to keep going back again and again.  The drive from Polzeath isn't too bad either. The downside though is that if you're a family of 4 and both your children are over 92cm  after 23rd July is going to cost £63 to get in if you turn up at the gates, booking online will save you £6 https://bookings.crealy.co.uk/devon/shop-buy-day-tickets.aspx .  If you're local it's definatley worth looking into getting annual passes out of season as they do have some decent offers.

4. Eden Project - St.Austell .  There's something to do all year round at the Eden Project and if you opt to give the tax to charity ( can't see why anyone wouldn't ) then you can have a year ticket for the price of a day ticket. On the door Adults are £22, 5-16 year olds £8.50 and under that Free.  www.edenproject.com

5. Dairly Land - Summercourt, Newquay.  A bigger version of Carruan but with a bigger price though.  Adults £8.95 and children over 92cm high are £8.95 also - this buys you entry for 7days. Although I guess it's fairly unlikely you'll be going there many time if staying in Polzeath. www.dairylandfarmworld.com

6. Kidzworld - The new kid on the block, and as of yet I haven't been there. Visit www.kidzworldcornwall.co.uk/ for more information.
