The new building at the very end of Rock Road has a Restuarant with a balcony. It's owned by Jamie and Rowan Yoki who also run the Waterfront in Polzeath.
When stepping into the restaurant your treated to wrap around views and an outside balcony that has plenty of space and will be a real treat on those warm summer evenings . On the other wall are old photos of the area. Decor and view wise you can't go wrong here and the menu also has a local feel with local Oysters in local beer one of the special when we visited. Personally when I'm on holiday or travelling it this kind of place I'd be looking for, not an indian or generic pub food etc.
Price wise I've already heard the phrase ' Paying for the view ' being related to 'No 1 Rock Road ' - Expect to spend over £75 for a 3 course meal for 2 . I'd opted for the local Oysters and fries, which in my opinion much tastier than Oysters I've had from anywhere else. What other restaurants get there Oysters from only a half mile away ( Porthilly ) - I'd expect the Lobster to be of equal quality.
I'd certainly recommend the food here and personally hope they run more out of season offers for the rest of us.
Have you been to No1 Rock Road - if so why not let us know what you thought of it.
